CONDITION BASED ASSESSMENT

Condition-based assessment (CBA) is a maintenance strategy that monitors the actual condition of the asset to decide what maintenance needs to be done. CBA dictates that maintenance should only be performed when certain indicators show signs of decreasing performance or upcoming failure. Checking a machine for these indicators may include non-invasive measurements, visual inspection, performance data and scheduled tests. Condition data can then be gathered at certain intervals, or continuously (as is done when a machine has internal sensors). Condition-based maintenance can be applied to mission critical and non-mission critical assets.

The Goal of condition based maintenance is to spot upcoming equipment failure so maintenance can be proactively scheduled when it is needed – and not before. Asset conditions need to trigger maintenance within a long enough time period before failure, so work can be finished before the asset fails or performance falls below the optimal level.

  • Non Destructive Testing (NDT)
  • Live Inspection (No Shutdown)
  • Predictive Maintenance
  • Inspect, Scan, Analyse & Report
  • Energy Integrity Audit / Pre-PM Works

CBA Technique Employed

1. Infrared Thermal Mapping (Thermographic)

Electrical Inspections — Thermal imaging cameras could scan electrical cabinets/panels and components for a non-contact view of conditions.

2. EMF/TEV High Voltage “Above 1KV” Electrical Partial Discharge Detection”

Partial Discharge Locator Model PDL01 & UltraTEV Locator (TEV + Ultrasonic) both are EA Technology.

3. Ultrasound Inspection

Ultraprobe UP9000/UP10000 system complete with Tri-Sonic, Stethoscope Module and Long Range Module.

4. Vibration Inspection & Analysis

Vibration Analyzer - Commtest VB7 & Entek Datapac 1500 U.S.A.

5. UHF Partial Discharge Detector

Megger UHF PDD. Ideal tool for quick non-invasive surveys. Fast verification of PD activity eminating from various type of MV and HV assets

4. Power Quality Analyzer PW3198

The PW3198 Power Quality Analyzer is effectively solve the number of power supply problems as power systems are becoming more and more complicated - all due to the rising use of power electronics devices plus a growing installed base of large systems and distributed power supplies.

5. ALL-TEST PRO On-Line II™ (ATPOL II™)

The ATPOL II™ delivers superior AC diagnostics for the evaluation of the health of the Stator Electrically and Mechanically, Rotor, Air Gap, and evaluates the entire driven load (belted, geared, bladed, etc.) also provides excellent Diagnostics for DC motors, Generators and Transformers.
